Zero-Jank Native Views: Deep Dive into Hybrid Composition++ (HCPP) in Flutter 3.47+

Embedding a heavy native SDK like an advanced Google Map, an AR pipeline, or a native camera—inside a Flutter app has historically meant fighting a war with the framework. We've all dealt with clipping bugs, broken touch events, and catastrophic frame drops caused by older Virtual Display or standard Hybrid Composition modes. With the Flutter 3.44 release, the rules changed. Impeller is the default, and Hybrid Composition++ (HCPP) is here to fix Android platform views. This session deconstructs the new rendering pipeline. In this talk we will explore how Impeller uses the Vulkan backend and Android 14's SurfaceControl API to composite native UI views directly into the render pass, completely bypassing GPU texture copying. I will show you how to seamlessly blend native platform views into complex, scrollable Flutter slivers without dropping a single frame.
