The Catalog Is the Cage: Safe Generative UI with Flutter's GenUI SDK

The GenUI SDK and the A2UI protocol were the headline of Flutter 3.44: an AI agent composes real Flutter screens at runtime from your widget catalog, no app update required. The demos are dazzling. This talk covers everything between the demo and something you would let real users touch. We build a working GenUI integration live, then stress it until it breaks: malformed surfaces, stalled streams, schema violations. Then we build the safety story using primitives the SDK ships today, plus the critique-before-render pattern Google's own team recommends from production generative UI work. And we stay honest about the SDK's alpha status: what to build on now, and how to structure code so API churn does not hurt.
